Dinosaur Theme Birthday Party
Stomp, Chomp, & Roar! Let’s Party Like a Dinosaur!
I loved curating this dinosaur theme birthday party for my two boys this year! With a two-year age gap between them, their birthdays are at the very end of December. Unfortunately, we had to reschedule the party due to illness. However, we kicked off 2024 in style with a dinosaur themed birthday party to celebrate my 2 and 4 year olds. Scroll through the highlights for some inspiration from this vibrant blue and green dinosaur themed birthday party!
This invitation design template was found on Canva! I just adjusted the colors to be shades of blue and green and added my own wording! Blue is my oldest’s favorite color and green is my youngest’s. It worked out perfectly! My sister is super talented at hand lettering and did all of the chalkboards for our party! Check out her Calligraphy instagram page and her blog!
The table runners and centerpieces were one of my favorite things at the party. For the runner, I painted dinosaur tracks on Kraft paper by using a stencil, a sponge, and white paint. Paper leaves and plastic dinosaurs down the center completed the look! I chose blue disposable tablecloths to tie in the color scheme. Nonetheless, I was so pleased with how they turned out, especially with such affordable supplies!
Shop table decor items below for a Dinosaur Theme Birthday Party
- Disposable Tablecloths – these are such great quality disposable tablecloths. They aren’t super see through and do not rip easily!

- White Paint
- Sponges for painting on your dinosaur tracks!
- Paper Palm Leaves
- Plastic Dinosaurs I collected plastic dinosaurs here and there as I found them and also ordered a few online. I was looking specifically for blue and green colored ones to go along with my theme, but any colors would work!

Balloons for a Dinosaur Theme Birthday Party
Another favorite, from this dinosaur theme birthday party, was the balloon garland! This was my first time actually creating one, with the help of my amazing sister in law! Since I used all of the larger balloons that came in the packs a week or so before the rescheduled party date, we ended up using the remaining three sizes. I was so pleased with how it turned out! For those curious about the specific balloons and colors I selected, I’ll provide links below.
- PartyWoo Royal Blue Balloons
- PartyWoo Hunter Green Balloons
- PartyWoo Clover Green Balloons
- PartyWoo Navy Blue Balloons
This tutorial video was so helpful for my first time doing a balloon garland! Check it out here!
This “ROAR” balloon I used isn’t available anymore, but this one is similar — it’s green, but it doesn’t have the blue scales. Still super cute! You could definitely add your own scales by cutting cardstock into triangles and taping them on!
Long Neck Balloon – This was the cutest long neck balloon! It matched the plates and napkins too!
I added some fabric leaves to the garland to add some texture! Check them out here!
Here is the link to the number balloons shown above! I was able to get them blown up with helium at my local Dollar General along with some of the latex balloons!
Food Table Details
For the food table decor, I chose bright green tables cloths to bring in some of the lighter green accents throughout the party. I used the same Kraft runners with stenciled dino prints and paper leaves down the center of the food tables.
The cupcakes I purchased from Walmart with requested green and blue sprinkles. I added these cupcake toppers that were the perfect addition!
We kept the food simple with pizzas, fruit and veggie trays, chips and drinks! How cute are the “for the herbivores” and “for the carnivores” signs!
The blue punch was so easy to make and refreshing! Here is the recipe I used!
I was so happy that my two boys had a blast at their dinosaur theme birthday party! We were so thankful for everyone who came and celebrated them with us! I hope these decoration photos and the links to the products I used to plan their party inspire you while you’re planning your next event for a dinosaur lover in your family!
